An aerial-surfing contest comes to Bondi, attracting an extra 20,000 people to the beach. A beginner surfer inflicts a major laceration to her leg which lifeguards say is the worst they've ever seen.

Sydney is in the midst of a heat wave, leaving lifeguards praying for the southerly, as heat, bad swimmers and huge crowds exact a heavy toll.

A foggy Australia day has reduced visibility to mere metres, forcing lifeguards to close Bondi Beach. Alcohol is a problem and a man is presented to lifeguards with a huge gash to his arm.

From a man under the influence of amphetamine GHB to extremely venomous sea snakes swimming amongst beach-goers, the lifeguards can never be sure who or what will show up on Bondi.

Lifeguards are called when 14 year-old American up-and-coming skateboarding star Steve Pineiro badly breaks his arm at the World Cup Skating event, Bowlarama at Bondi.

Lifeguards get a brutal reminder of the ocean's power when one of their own breaks his neck in a tragic surfing accident south of Sydney and must be airlifted to hospital.

On New Year's day, the lifeguards attend to the human debris hanging over from the night before. Amidst the drunk and drug affected is an opportunistic thief with some tall tales to tell.

Christmas comes to Bondi, gifting the lifeguards their busiest day of the year thanks to a large group of backpackers with poor swimming skills and lots of alcohol-induced holiday spirit.
